Pursuit of excellence is a driving force for Promon, a finalist in this year’s edition of the award
Founded in 1960, Promon is a Brazilian organization recognized for its engineering and project management expertise and strong entrepreneurial capacity. Its core business is the design, integration and implementation of complex infrastructure solutions for key economic sectors such as power, oil & gas, process industries, chemicals, petrochemicals, mining, metallurgy, telecommunications, and information technology.
Promon has used the criteria of excellence recommended by Brazil’s National Quality Foundation (FNQ) since the 1990s. Adoption of this model has brought important benefits, especially in terms of continuous improvements to management practices, a cornerstone of Promon’s strategy. The decision to apply for the 2006 National Quality Award (PNQ) was motivated by the certainty that participation in the process alone is sufficient to intensify these benefits and enhance the company’s competitiveness.
Throughout its 46-year history Promon has tackled many daunting challenges and accomplished many outstanding achievements. Recognition as a finalist in the 2006 edition of the PNQ expresses the past and present ability of its professionals to create a truly special organization for which the pursuit of excellence is a basic driving force, in every activity and grounded in essentially human values. For Promon excellence is a permanent goal that is never completely attained, because continuous improvement in everything it does is an endless process.
