The company has one of the most expressive track records of achievements in the field of electric power generation and transmission both in Brazil and abroad. Its experience has evolved towards the implementation of projects under a turnkey system. Already in the early 1980s, under such a turnkey contract, Promon Engenharia carried out the implementation of the HVDC converter stations at Itaipu.

Today, the company has fully mastered the energy business cycle, ranging from feasibility studies and the basic engineering of generator units, to their building and assembling, and their definitive operation, including also important studies of energy systems and planning. Promon is endowed with a wide-ranging, thorough and differentiated view of the entire institutional model of the Brazilian energy sector and its dynamics of evolution, and is prominently active in thermoelectric, hydroelectric, thermonuclear power plant and transmission system enterprises.

 Thermoelectric power plants
The main focus of Promon Engenharia, the pioneer company in the execution of turnkey projects in Brazil´s thermoelectric power plant sector, is to provide this market with integrated solutions in the implementation of such ventures, by means of Engineering, Procurement and Construction, or EPC-type contracts.

 Hydroelectric power plants
Promon Engenharia´s activities in the area of energy generation based on hydroelectricity comprise feasibility studies, the preparation and coordination of environmental studies, and technical support in obtaining the licenses required for the implementation and operation of hydroelectric power plants, including small hydroelectric plants (SHPPs), engineering design, the management, inspection and quality control for construction and electromechanical assemblies, as well as the commissioning and start-up of installations and training of operators.

 Transmission systems
With a vast experience in projects relative to electric energy transmission systems, Promon Engenharia develops studies and implements transmission systems, operating in both alternate current and direct current modes. In the course of the years, the company prepared studies in the stages of planning and designing of electrical systems for energy concessionaires and industrial installations in Brazil and abroad.

Promon Engenharia´s experience includes, in addition, basic and executive designs for more than 10,000 km of high and extra-high voltage lines and 50,000 MVA of capacity at substations. The company also executes integrated turnkey contracts, for both transmission lines and substations.
